Papa
Dirt was: From 1990-1992 Papa Dirt played one official gig at Cheers in Nyack, NY until they were thrown off the stage for making the crowd a little uneasy... But their legacy lives on in this collection of their recorded works, "Free Tibet" (The Full Recordings), released in late 1999 on Steven Records. This collection features the cult hits "Meat Boy", "Grover Milk/Kill The Clown", "The Lucy Song", "6", "Tommy Tommy", "Touch Me Said The Antelope", "I Want To Touch Your Breast With A Crayon", and many more rare recordings of this band which most people don't know, may be better without knowing anything about, or should know to better their well-being. Mostly known through underground circles by their full length independent live-in-their-rehearsal-studio video, "Papa Igloo", Papa Dirt showed fans what they were capable of with their trademark homemade cereal masks, costume changes, trademark dance, and out of control performance, which culminates in "The Dirt Ritual" where the band eats potting soil straight out of one of the potted plants used in their stageshow and proceeds to adorn a doll with the grinds of dirt. Like most great bands, Papa Dirt had a very short-lived career, but lucky for us they did leave behind some great documentation of the Dirt life. So, we, here at Steven, suggest you order "Free Tibet" (The Full Recordings), put it in the stereo, and do what the Dirt would do: cut up some Vivarin, put on a mask, and Rock Jaw, Rock Jaw!!!! ...check
