believin'" Our Creed Here at Steven, we don't stop believin' about our artists. Steven artists are all good people with good minds for good music. I take the time to see to it that all of our artists are hand-picked and follow the beliefs and codes of the Steven family. Based in Brooklyn, Steven believes in the home - the home recording, the home-town vibe, the home-grown love. And the one thing, the glue, that holds true to this and ties all of Steven's key players together our belief in spontaneous recording. Whether recorded on a 24-track or a portable 4-track, Steven's artists make sure that what goes to tape is completely fresh from their minds. Sometimes the recording "quality" suffers, but that is not the point - here at Steven we see past the commercial recording "standards" and look first to the underlying feel and vibe. We ask: Is the real, raw emotional innocence of the artist being translated to tape - without any inhibitions or hindrance of laboring over the recording process?? To us, this is what is most important, and what will eventually speak best to the people and surpass time and trends - because at Steven, the human element is the whole of the music. So, as you listen to Steven's family of artists, remember to listen to yourself.
